Full Text

We yesterday had the pleasure of examining a most exquisitely executed map of our town, which has been prepared for S. V. Thompson & Co. by our townsman, Mr. Thomas Hyde. It is some four feet in length, and three feet in width, beautifully colored, and much care has been taken to make it perfectly correct and reliable. Several additions have recently been made to our town plot, which now extends a distance of one and a half miles east and west, and a mile north and south—containing an area of about 600 acres. In the recent additions, an eye has been had to the future embellishment of the town, and a large public park has been provided for on each side of the river.
