EDITOR REPUBLICAN—According to notice previously given, there was a meeting held to-day at this place for the purpose of perfecting the organization of a Grant and Wilson Club. The meeting was called to order by John Anderson, who put in nomination Isaac Vanhorn, as Chairman, who was unanimously elected. James McBrien was then chosen Secretary. Dr. N. B. Brown, being loudly called for, came forward and excused himself from making a speech on account of ill health, explained the object of the meeting, and said at some future time he would give them his views on the political situation. General William Wilkinson then came forward and made a speech of about two hours duration, which was listened to with profound attention and warmly applauded. The speaker dealt with facts and figures and challenged contradiction. A goodly number then came forward and joined the club, after which the meeting adjourned.
ISAAC VANHORN, Chairman.
