It is coming.
Yes! as sure as we write this paragraph, there is, one of the darkest, most malignant and at the same time, most absurd falsehoods, derogatory to the character and talents of Gen. Taylor, coming from the Democratic wire pullers. It is coming; and it will show its hideous features, sometime between this and the 7th of Nov. One of the most consummate pieces of forgery, that political rascality and selfish knavery can invent, will issue from the Democratic Office of "Patent inventions." Look out for it. The cormorant office-holders - the Government vampires - have too much at stake not to make a daring desperate and devilish effort, to hold on to their dearly loved places. To them office is existence: and no means so base, but they will resort to them, to keep their positions safe. We with emphasis, call on honest men, to be on the watch for the falsehood, about Gen. Taylor or Fillmore, or both: for as sure, as there is truth in Heaven, or lies in the place set apart for their authors, there is one coming. Meet it on the outer threshold, and give it the contemptuous reception it deserves.
