PORTS MOUTH, October 7.

At a town-meeting, held at Stratham on Wednesday last, the inhabitants of that town voted to give their Representative instructions to use his influence at the ensuing sessions of the General Court of this State, to obtain an act for introducing a PAPER CURRENCY -How far such a currency may have a tendency of removing the evil we now complain of, or whether it will not be a mean of introducing a greater, time must discover. Our gazette has spoke the propriety as well as impropriety of such a medium.-

Of two evils it is prudent to chuse the least; and the general distress, occasioned by the present scarcity of Cash, and stagnation of Trade, calls loudly for something to be done!
