COMMUNICATED

CONTRADICTION.

It is said by the Opposition Press, that in the Charlotte District, "if Judge Tucker had been out of the canvass, Mr. Anderson, or Mr. Bolling, or Mr. Wilson either, would have been elected." It has not yet come to the writer's knowledge, that one single vote would have gone to those gentlemen, in preference to Judge Tucker—and his acquaintance is very extensive.

There are a great many ifs and ands on some occasions; and it is sincerely believed, that there are some, if not all of the gentlemen, who would not have reached as high a poll as Judge Tucker did. The whole force of the Opposition was out; and the April Elections will prove it.
