The Indians of the Platte River country are reported as threatening trouble. Their supplies have given out and several war parties of Sioux, Arapahoes and Utes are said to be scouring the prairies preparing for war. It is high time that the thieving system of the Interior Department in regard to the Indians be ended, and we are glad to know that the House Committee on Indian Affairs are maturing measures which look to a restoration of the control of Indian matters to the War Department. The sooner this is done the better for settlers, taxpayers and the Indians.
