From Constantinople, That the Janissaries, taking Advantage of the Necessity which the Porte stands in of their Service for the War in Hungary, have demanded Leave to drink Wine, that they may be the better able to support the Fatigues of the Campaign. The Mufti has held several Assemblies upon the Subject, with the principal Doctors of the Alcoran, to examine whether such a Breach of the Law of Mahomet can be permitted without Sin, tho' to raise the Spirits of the Soldiers. The Grand Signior refuses to consent to the Russians keeping Azoph, and the Tartars are 100,000 Strong, and repair Perekop, with great Diligence.
