The Funny Bone

The funny bone or more often called the crazy bone is really not a bone at all but a nerve. This nerve lying between the bone of the elbow and the skin (if you haven't knocked the skin off the last time you came in contact with a chair in the dark) produces a "tingle", as the dictionary says, when struck. Personally I prefer a stronger word than tingle. Crazy bone is more often used to name this nerve, probably because the acute pain almost "drives one crazy" but listen next time someone strikes his crazy bone and see if all that saw the accident including the victim don't laugh; so maybe its real name should be funny bone.
