Tuskegee Printing Dept. Head on Leave to Study
TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE, Ala. - Ignacio L. Guzman, who has been teaching machine composition and photo engraving at Tuskegee Institute, has been granted a year's leave of absence to study in the Graduate School of Iowa State college during the school year, 1947-1948.
In 1941, Mr. Guzman reorganized the department of photo-engraving here at Tuskegee, making it possible for the first time for Negro youth to study photo-engraving in an institution of college level. The fact that photo-engraving is taught here, Tuskegee enlarges its service by making it possible to offer courses in the art and technique of a vocation that offers wide opportunities in the publication field.
