Long Plane Trip
GUAM, (AP)—A foul ball bopped seaman Glen E. Friese. And the navy was off on another long range rescue mission.

The baseball game was at Ponape, 2,600 miles west of Honolulu in the Caroline Islands. The ball hit the head of Friese, whose home is Horicon, Wis. The Ponape doctor feared Friese had a skull fracture. He summoned aid. A volunteer crew flew a 14-hour roundtrip to bring the seaman to the navy hospital here. X-rays disclosed no fracture. Guam doctors said Friese should recover quickly.
