Academic Exhibition--On Wednesday the 10th instant, it being the annual meeting of the board of Trustees of Fryeburg Academy, they met; and after transacting necessary business, at 3 o'clock, P. M. repaired to the meeting-house with the students, and a numerous collection of spectators. The exercises commenced with prayer by the Rev. William Fessenden--appropriate music succeeded;--after which an oration composed for, and well adapted to the occasion, was pronounced. A variety of other choice recitations were performed in a simple, though tasty manner. The smiles of approbation from all parts of the house, evinced the satisfaction, which parents, friends, and the patrons of science received in the improvement of youth. In the evening, the Tragedy Busiris, was performed in an admirable manner--the parts were happily assigned, and the characters well supported. In several interesting scenes, the fiction appeared a reality--the audience gave way to the impulse of nature, and the trickling tear bespoke the smitten heart--Music added much to the richness of the repast.
A pleasant ball, composed of the young gentlemen and ladies of the academy and town, was the amusement of the succeeding evening.
A SPECTATOR.
