New Trial Granted.

A San Diego, Cal., dispatch of the 17th instant says:

Wellington Stewart, who was sentenced to fourteen years in the Penitentiary for criminal assault on several young girls in this city, was released this afternoon on his own application. The Supreme Court had granted a new trial in the case. Stewart was a well known attorney of this city and was formerly a member of the Nevada Legislature.

Wellington Stewart was a member of the Assembly, from Storey county at the Eighth Session of the Nevada Legislature, in 1877.
