Esteleah Baker, Soprano, To Present Concert Here At NWA Fair On Aug. 11

The people of Nome and the personnel of Marks Air Force Base have a wonderful surprise and a rare treat in store for them on Saturday, August 11, at the Northwestern Alaska Fair. Esteleah Baker, spinto soprano, who has given several concerts in Fairbanks during the past year and who has won more applause and popularity than any other concert singer has ever done in the far north, has consented to present a concert in the area during the Fair.

Mrs. Baker is the wife of General David H. Baker, commanding officer of Ladd Field. Her voice has an unusual range and she has a charming personality. Her program of operatic selections will be announced in the near future.

Mrs. Baker graciously passed up a vacation trip planned for August to accept the invitation of the Northwestern Fair Association.
