Women's Right To Vote
Why it is considered by the champions of woman suffrage that they should have the privilege under our constitution to vote for presidential electors and no other aspiring to political positions is beyond us. If women have sufficient qualifications to vote for president, why in the name of common sense have they not the judgment which would entitle them to vote for whomsoever men are privileged to elect, from president to town street commissioner. Why in any state is a limit fixed for the franchise for women? Not a living son-of-a-gun yawping for woman's rights has offered the remotest suggestion for paring their voting privileges and not one of that ilk but who expects to ride into public office on the wave of skirts.
We do not believe in woman suffrage from any point of view, but we believe a whole lot less in tossing them political parings and keeping the meat of the official nut for insincere office seeking jingoes. If we find that the majority of the right kind of women want to vote, we will be for it with no limitations either at the polls or in the distribution of good offices. If they are entitled to start they are able to go all the way and we are with them to the end that they have every privilege accorded men, any man, from president to re-enfranchised ex-convict.
