Old Jup Pluvius seemingly is the sole unpredictable scheduled participant and onlooker as Woodstock Agricultural Society personnel polish off the few remaining details prior to launching of the Victory-85th Woodstock Fair Saturday at the South Woodstock Fairgrounds for a week-end staging through Monday night. The famous quotation variously attributed to Mark Twain or one of his famous contemporaries to the effect everyone is talking about the weather, but no one seems to be able to do much about it, appears to apply equally well to whatever climatic conditions may be in store for the Fair.

Thus far everything is jake, ideal late summer weather with a tang of early fall in the air, just the type for a fit olden Fair setting. The Weatherman also is optimistic for a continuance during the next few days, in fact over the holiday. But one never can tell, and one should keep his or her fingers crossed until the Fair is history. For, Old Jup holds fate of the Fair in his grip. A "break" and shooing of the past jinx will result in a new high record, inclement weather, well—

Last survey of the program shows that practically everything along the line of information, education, and recreation is included. The only thing lacking appears to be the atomic bomb. Maybe most of its component parts are scattered throughout the innumerable exhibits.
