Feb. 24.

Among numerous instances of patriotic zeal displayed by the Militia of Virginia in the promptitude with which they have turned out without waiting for the slow and cold ceremony of a draft, we take pleasure in particularly noticing the detachment from Nansemond—The requisition from that county was for 250, more than which number reported themselves volunteers.—To our Militia, and not to the British government (as Mr. S—— would have us believe) belongs the proud title of "bulwark of our liberty and religion." We trust that the brave and hardy Yeomanry of Virginia will always prove, in the hour of danger, that they are worthy of the blessings secured to them by their illustrious forefathers.
