Full Text
Yesterday arrived the brig Harriot & Ann, Rider, Port-de-Paix, 10 days.
On his passage from Port-de-Paix, capt. Rider was twice brought to by the British frigate Quebeck; the treatment he received from her was friendly, except in taking from him one man, a Swede by birth.
Nothing of any moment has taken place lately, either at the Cape or Port de Paix.
Provisions were scarce and dear; the British fleet of eight sail of the line, and several frigates, are cruising close off the Cape; and it was reported that an expedition was going against Monte Christo, but there was nothing positively known respecting it when captain Ryder sailed.
