We do not know who this gentleman is, but it has been suggested by a friend that he is the intelligent "fire reporter" who was engaged in showing the western gentlemen the Shenandoah Valley before they had reached it by twenty miles. Or it may have been that other fellow who had never before enjoyed the luxury of a free ride and free access to two bar-rooms. But we rather suspect it was the fellow who had once heard a band-organ, and that instrument did not play "Dixie." Another party suggests that it may have been that other fellow who was unable to leave the train on account of severe headache, caused by loss of sleep which created a "peculiar" feeling in the head and interfered, to some extent, with his hearing faculties. It must have been the "Dixie" man however, as he says the Richmond band played "Dixie" and it was received with applause.
The next time he comes to Staunton we will endeavor to have the band turn out and give him "Dixie."
