Vienna, Aug. 8.

Authentic accounts from Bucharest give us some curious details with regard to the passage of the Danube by the Russians. The Turkish army, increased by numerous reinforcements, which had arrived from all parts of the empire, advanced towards the river, and impetuously attacked the Russian army. Gen. Kutusow repulsed the Turks, inflicting upon them a considerable loss; he even forced them to return to their intrenched camp; but he had reason to expect a new attack, because the Turks were determined to profit by their numerical superiority, cost what it would. In these circumstances, Gen. Kutusow assembled a council of war, at which were present Generals Langeron, Wolnoff, and a number of other Generals of division. Their unanimous opinion was, that the Russian army, though brave enough to fight the whole Turkish army, would still be exposed to successive losses, which it would be difficult to repair, were it obliged to repel the continued attacks which the Grand Vizier meditated; that the interests of his majesty the Emperor of Russia, therefore, required that so many brave soldiers should not be uselessly sacrificed, and that the Russian army should march to the left bank of the Danube, after having destroyed the fortress of Rudschuck. It was in consequence of this deliberation that the Russian army crossed the river. The resolution adopted at the conference, so important by its results, was signed by all the Generals present, and sent to St. Petersburg by an extraordinary courier.

Three Russian Generals have been sent from St. Petersburg to Bucharest, to take the command of divisions. Generals Kamenskoi, Markuw, and St. Priest, have demanded and obtained permission to quit the army. Gen. Platow, Chief of the Cossacks, has returned to the army.
