NEWPORT, March 7.

SUPREME COURT.

The Supreme Judicial Court, of this State finished its session last evening, having passed upon all the business before the Court. At the opening on Tuesday last, Chief Justice Burgess delivered to the Grand Jury a Charge, distinguished alike for legal attainments and sound erudition.

One indictment only was found by the Grand Jury, and that against Edmund Briggs, Jun. for being concerned in passing a counterfeit five dollar bill of one of the Boston banks. He was sentenced to an imprisonment of two months, and subjected to a fine of $50, with costs of prosecution.
