Loses $20,000; Pays Finder Reward of $1

CHICAGO—Joe Stein runs a news stand at Randolph and Dearborn Sts. During the rush hour last evening a woman purchased a magazine from Joe. She abstractedly laid the magazine and an envelope down on the news stand and hurried away.

She returned, all out of breath.

"Where—where," she stammered faintly, "is the envelope I left here a few minutes ago?"

"Here," said Joe, and he picked it up from the stand where it still lay.

"O—O, thank God," said the woman.

"Here—here is a reward for you, my boy."

And she handed Joe $1.

"And what d'ye think?" said Joe later. "She said there was $20,000 in that envelope. She was just going to put it in a deposit box."
