TRACY CITY PLANT
COMPLETE LOSS
Fire Destroys Building and
Contents, Including Law
Library.

TRACY CITY, Tenn., Sept. 29.— The plant of Mrs. Grundy, one of the newspapers of Tracy City, was destroyed by fire about 1 o'clock last night. The fire was seen and the alarm given between 12 and 1 o'clock, but it had gained such headway that it was impossible to save anything, and the building with its contents, was destroyed. The plant of Mrs. Grundy was well equipped for a country newspaper, and the loss outside of the building was perhaps $2,500. The building was recently remodeled, and was worth $1,000. Besides this, the law library of J. B. Ferguson in the building was burned, entailing a loss of several hundred dollars. The second story was used by the Woodmen of the World as a lodge hall, and all its paraphernalia was lost. This was worth, perhaps, $200. There was no insurance. As there had been no fire in the building for two weeks or more, it is believed that the fire was of incendiary origin. This is the first fire of any consequence to visit Tracy City in several years.
