Agricultural Society Holds Its 87th Annual Meeting To Name Officers, Receive Reports - Directorate Increased By Two Members. Raoul E. Laime And Edmund Keane, This City, Being Added - Will Have 85th Exhibit Next September All Expenses Met -- Mrs. Annette Clark Named Head of Woman's Department Officialdom.
William S. Warren of Eastford was reelected president of the Woodstock Agricultural Society, sponsor of the historic Woodstock Fair, at its 87th annual meeting last night in Masonic Hall at South Woodstock. Henry F. Joy of Woodstock again was named vice-president, Freeman R. Nelson of Pomfret Center, as secretary, with Henry J. Dunleavy of Putnam added as assistant secretary, and Walter N. King of Putnam was reelected treasurer. Ewart G. Healey of Woodstock, Alphonse Dumas of Putnam, and Bert J. Johnson of Woodstock again were selected as auditors.
The directorate was increased by two members, Raoul E. Laime and Edmond Keane, both of Putnam, being elected to the board. Directors reelected are John S. May of East Woodstock, William C. Child of Woodstock, Alexander Maitland of Thompson, Sabin Spaulding of Woodstock, Frank Johnston of South Woodstock, J. Otis Fox of Putnam, Frank B. Young of South Woodstock, Dr. James H. Hutchins of Abington George W. Butts of South Woodstock, James Hakey of Putnam, A. H. Amidon of Putnam, John Wetherbee of Abington, Franklin Buell of Eastford, and George D. Young of South Woodstock.
Clarence M. Agard of Putnam and Union was added to the society's officialdom as director of publicity.

the Woodstock Fairgrounds. Despite the inclement weather last September and handicap of resumption after two years' suspension because of the war, it was reported that all expenses, including premiums, have been paid, and that there remains a small balance in the treasury.
Meeting at the same time and place, the Woman's Department elected Mrs. Annette Clark of South Woodstock, president; Mrs. Henry D. Young of South Woodstock, first vice-president; Mrs. Sumner Warren of Eastford, second vice-president; Miss Helen Perley of Woodstock third vice-president; Mrs. Henry F. Joy of Woodstock, recording secretary; Mrs. Martin A. Nelson of South Woodstock, assistant secretary, and Mrs. William C. Child of Woodstock, secretary of the children's department. Directors named are Mrs. C. S. Harrington of South Woodstock, Mrs. N. Earl Andrews and Mrs. Louise Child of Woodstock, Miss Alice Ramsdell of Thompson, Mrs. Freeman R. Nelson of Pomfret Center Mrs. William S. Warren of Eastford, Mrs. J. Henry Day of Eastford, Miss Rilla Child of Woodstock, Miss Elizabeth Hayward of West Woodstock, Mrs. Wilhelm Pedersen of Woodstock, Mrs. Harmon J. French of Pomfret Center, and Mrs. Frank Jordan of East Woodstock.
A chicken-menu dinner served by members of Betty Putnam Chapter, Order Eastern Star, preceded the meetings. An entertainment program followed. The program stressed 4-H Club work, speakers being Paul Latimer and Mrs. Charlotte Neff of the Windham County Farm Bureau, and Franklin Buell of Eastford. Two movie films were shown by Mr. Moody of the Crosley Film Service of Worcester. One showed the processing of lumber from forest to finished products, the other was descriptive of Brazil
