At the Court of General Sessions began here on Monday, thirty one Bills were found by the Grand-Jury.

September 24th.

The Trial of Dr. John Haly also came on at this Sessions, who was arraigned for murder for the Death of [someone] Esq; in a duel. This trial began at Eight o'clock on Saturday, before the most crowded audience that ever was assembled there upon any occasion, and was not over till after seven in the evening, when the Jury, after having been out only a few minutes convinced (we may presume) that there was not the least degree of malice on his part, brought in their verdict guilty of manslaughter. Dr. John Haly pleaded his Majesty's pardon, and was discharged.
