Middleburg high school will participate next Friday evening in one of the annual triangular debates being held all over the State under auspices of the North Carolina High School Debating Union, directed from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The school's representatives will be grouped with the Macon and Aurelian Springs high schools.
A team will be sent against each of these two opponents, taking opposite sides of the question.
The query for the debates throughout the State is, "Resolved, That the United States should adopt the policy Of extending Federal aid to general education."
Schools winning both ends of their debate Friday evening will send their teams to Chapel Hill for the finals April 11 and 12. Several hundred schools will join in the debates Friday night throughout the State. Henderson high school is not participating this year, and Middleburg is the only school in the county that is represented in the competition.
