Full Text

PENNSYLVANIA LEGISLATURE.

In the Senate, on Thursday, the bill to regulate elections by soldiers in the actual military service was taken up and considered at length. After the rejection of numerous amendments offered by the patent Democrats to impede the progress of the bill, it was passed finally by the following vote:

The yeas and nays were required by Mr. Wallace, and Mr. Beardslee, and were as follows, viz:

YEAS—Messrs. Champneys, Connell, Dunlap, Fleming, Graham, Hoge, Householder, Johnson, Kinsey, McSherry, Nichols, Ridgeway, St. Clair, Turrell, Wilson, McCandless, Worthington and Penney, Speaker—18.

NAYS—Messrs. Beardslee, Bucher, Clymer, Glatz, Hopkins, Lamberton, Latta, Montgomery, Reilly, Smith, Stark, Stein and Wallace—13.

Of course these nays are friends of the soldiers! and Bucher, according to the Patent Democrat, represents the feelings and wishes of the democracy of this district.
