Growers Advised to be Sure to Sign Applications by September 25
Wheat growers will have their last chance Monday, September 25, to apply for allotment contracts, announces R. L. Stende, agricultural emergency assistant. This cut off date has been set by the wheat section of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration at Washington and farmers who want contracts must sign their application blanks by that time or lose the opportunity to come in on the wheat plan, at least for the next two years.
Some farmers may not understand the plan quite well enough to decide about entering. Such farmers may sign the application and leave the way open for decision later, as the application is not binding if the farmer chooses not to take a contract. The same applies to farmers who want to join the wheat plan, but who have not gathered all of their figures on past production, or who lack other information called for. By going ahead and signing the application, they can keep themselves in line for contracts and can then finish up their applications later.
