Full Text

From the National Journal.

Let us make the people acquainted with the characters, of those who are thrown upon their favor. Let us set before them a faithful and honest synopsis of the public services and private lives of the several candidates; let us throw off all local prejudices, all personal partialities, and speak, as the future historian will speak, of the comparative pretensions of the "five candidates in the field?"—this is all that the people ask of us: this is all they want.

Let us do this, and there will be but one voice among the people of the U. States: and that voice will be, to proclaim the high pre-eminence of John Quincy Adams.
