MORMON LAND BOARD HELPING FARMERS

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 10.—The state board of land commissioners of Utah has advanced a total of $1,972,023 to 544 Utah farmers during the last two years, according to the biennial report of Arthur Kuhn, secretary of the board. The report's figures show this to be an average loan of $3,625 on each farm. Increase in the interest account income during the second year of the biennium is shown to be $43,950.88 over the second year of the previous biennium.

After detailing the mass of business transacted by the board a number of recommendations are made for legislative action, much of which affects the sale and lease of state-owned lands. The report will be submitted by the governor to the legislature when that body convenes January 13.
