But it Was No Go and a Shooting Fracas Followed.

HANNIBAL, Mo., March 10.—About eight o'clock this morning William J. Solan, a well known butcher, shot Thomas Brady, a Hannibal and St. Joseph brakeman. Last night Solan remained away from home until a late hour. Mrs. Solan started in search of him about twelve o'clock. Brady met her and made some insulting remarks. Solan found Brady this morning and compelled him to get down on his knees and apologize to Mrs. Solan at the point of a pistol. While Brady was on his knees Solan struck him on the head with the pistol. It fell from his hand and was discharged, the bullet taking effect in Brady's right thigh. Brady escaped and ran down the street. As he ran Solan fired three more shots. Brady's injuries are not of a serious nature. Solan has disappeared.
