YOUTHS CONFESS KILLING DOCTOR, MERCY MISSION

Gang Also Admits Committing About 200 Robberies

CHICAGO, March 30. - Three youths, seized for routine questioning regarding a series of robberies, suddenly confessed last night, Police Captain Harry O'Connell said, that they killed Dr. Silber C. Peacock, widely known Pediatrician after luring him from his home January 2 on a spurious mercy mission.

Police said the youths, all 19, revealed that they shot the physician when he resisted a hold-up attempt.

Officers said that the youths admitted that they perpetrated some 200 robberies, automobile larcenies and house burglaries during the last few months, and that one of their specialties was waylaying physicians.

The three were booked as Emil Reick, Robert Goethe alias Mitchell Didich and Durland Nash alias Joe Dziedzic.

The fourth member of the gang is Michael Livingston, aged 17 years.

State Attorney Thomas Courtney promised quick indictment and trial of the youths.
