Miss Grace Tucker, Sales and Public Relations manager for the Anchorage Gas and Oil Development, Inc., and sales representative for Invesco, Inc., arrived in Kodiak this week.
Miss Tucker, for the past twelve years has lived in Seattle, but has made frequent trips to Alaska, in fact 22 by her own count. She has now established residence in Anchorage. The Anchorage firm with which Miss Tucker is connected is a purely Alaskan enterprise. Her brother George H. Tucker, well known Anchorage businessman. is president of the company, which is incorporated for $2,500,000. Drilling operations of the company have been conducted on a shoe-string, she says, in contrast to the extensive operations of the big oil companies. The company, at present, has three wells going, mainly in the Susitna area north of Anchorage. Prospects look very favorable for a well coming in this summer, she stated. "I'm keeping my fingers crossed," Miss Tucker added.
The company has more than 3.000 stockholders in 47 states and 3 foreign countries. Miss Tucker expects to be in Kodiak for the next two weeks. She will work with Ken Castledine in sales promotion for Invesco, Inc., a mutual funds investment firm.
