Asheville Young Woman Bound to Recorder Court
Driving Arrest Tells Officer She Is Daughter of Judge Hoyle Sink

A young woman, who first told officers she was the daughter of Judge H. Hoyle Sink, of Greensboro, and was rushing to her sick mother in Tryon, was bound to county recorder's court this morning by Mayor A. V. Edwards on a charge of driving while drunk.

She first gave her name as Ruth Sink, later as Ruth Wright, and was finally identified as Ruth Carter, of Asheville.

She was arrested about 2 a. m. Sunday in a Cadillac automobile and charged with speeding and driving while drunk.

She told Otis Garren, the arresting officer, that she was Ruth Sink, daughter of the superior court judge, and was en route to a sick mother in Tryon. Later her real identity was learned.
