Full Text

The federal ticket for members of congress in New-Hampshire has succeeded by a majority of about 900: last March the democratic ticket had a majority of 54.—

Neither party gave so many votes at this time as in the spring; hence the Baltimore American declares that the success of the federalists arises not from an acquisition of numbers but from the apathy of the democrats. Very good, Mr. American, but the apathy of the democrats may arise from their being sick of their cause, and their wish to try the effects of federalism. Much as they have disliked federalism, they have found democracy so bad that they are now willing to try again the Washingtonian system.
