HANOVER, April 10,

The Marquis of Granby's departure for England, and the inaction of the two armies, occasioned the general rumour of a suspension of arms; but there is nothing in it. If the troops remain inactive and are obliged to go into quarters of cantonment, it is because the country is bare of provisions and forage. Near 2000 of our horse have perished within this fortnight. The magazines on both sides are but slenderly provided, by reason of the pains taken by each party to distress their adversary in this article. The places adjacent to the two armies are filled with sick and wounded, and for want of proper accommodations; many more of them die than recover.

Some French prisoners, who had enlisted in our troops have been bro't to this place from Utzten, and imprisoned. They had plotted to kill the guard, set fire to the town, and make their escape amidst the confusion.
