This Day the ingenious Mr. THOMAS BELL, the famous American Traveller, made his public Appearance in this City.--As his former Character, and romantick Life, have made a great Noise in every American Colony, 'twill doubtless be a Satisfaction to all who have any Knowledge of him, to hear in what Manner he has lived, during his Retirement from the Public.
He has resided in Hanover County, in this Colony, near two Years past, in the private Station of a Schoolmaster, and has, during that Time, behaved himself with Justice, Sobriety, and good Manners, of which he has produc'd a Certificate, signed by the principal Gentlemen of that County.
By his Behaviour, and his future Conduct, he hopes to wipe off the Odium that his former Manner of Life had fix'd on him, and thereby to approve himself a useful Member of Society.
