Mr. Sprague of Maine, Mr. Bell of New Hampshire, Mr. Silsbee of Massachusetts, Mr. Knight of Rhode Island, Mr. Frelinghuysen of New-Jersey, Mr. Clayton of Delaware, Mr. Leigh of Virginia, Mr. Brown of North Carolina, Mr. Calhoun of South Carolina, Mr. King of Georgia, Mr. Bibb of Kentucky, Mr. White of Tennessee. Mr. Waggaman of Louisiana, Mr. Poindexter of Mississippi, Mr. King of Alabama, and Mr. Robinson of Illinois.
Besides the above, there are three vacancies by resignation to be filled, viz. from Pennsylvania, in the place of Mr. Wilkins; from Georgia, in the place of Mr. Forsyth; and from Maryland in the place of Mr. Chambers. The elections now in progress, therefore, are more than usually interesting. for they are to decide the complexion of the next Senate.—ib.
