Full Text

Corfu, June 16.
All the reports which have lately circulated of the arrival of a Russian army here are destitute of foundation.—We have 5000 Russian troops who are extremely necessary to support the power of M. Mocenigo, who governs this country under the appearance of a constitution which leaves nothing to do to the inhabitants. We have no squadron here, 3 frigates only have lately arrived with the troops requisite to reinforce our garrison, and complete the 3000 men. The dispositions of Greece are at present much more favourable to the French than to the Russians. Some movements have even been perceived at Prevesa, excited by the discontent conceived by the Pacha of Janina.
