Sept. 15. (AP)-Colonel James Gordon Steese passed thru here this morning en route to Juneau on the S. S. Northwestern after breaking all travel records going from Nome to Valdez in four days traveling by airplane to Fairbanks in nine and one-half hours and after a 24 hour rest, Steese left Fairbanks, driving his own car, reaching Valdez 48 hours later. This is his second record trip of the year. On the present trip while en route to Nome, he traveled from Wiseman to Cordova in less than three days.
