Heavy Gale.--The Charleston papers of the 31st ult. gives an account of a very severe gale which raged on that coast that week. It began to blow heavily from the north east, on the preceding Saturday evening, and increased until Wednesday evening, when it increased to a very severe gale, which lasted through the rest of the week. At one period, on Thursday when the tide was at the highest point, it is said to have exceeded in violence any gale experienced there since the year 1822, and to have been even fully as violent as at any time during that celebrated gale. A number of vessels and some of the wharves of the city, were injured, great quantities of property destroyed. Sullivan's Island was almost entirely overflowed, but still there was no loss of life. The gale was not experienced at Georgetown, and was not felt seriously at sea.--Georgetown Metropolitan.

The amount of property destroyed by the above gale in the city and harbor of Charleston, is estimated at 200,000 dollars.--[Eo. Int.
