Full Text

Extension of the Corporate Limits.
We understand that a bill has been introduced in the State Legislature providing for the extension of the corporate limits of the city of Richmond. The limits of the corporation have not been extended for sixty or seventy years, and the city has gradually been increasing in size, until a great portion of it now lies in the county of Henrico. A provision in the bill makes the proposed extension contingent upon the approval of the people of the city and county, and the evils of the present system are so great, and cause so much inconvenience, that we cannot doubt but that the measure will meet with a cordial and general support from both the citizens of Richmond and the citizens of Henrico county.
