Full Text

NOW charming CARY, conscious of her claim,
And emulous of love and beauty's fame,
With aspect placid, and with modest voice,
Selects the happy partner of her choice.
O may a race, with generous courage crown'd,
And every softer virtue blooming round,
Uprise with noble zeal in freedom's cause,
Firm to their country, faithful to its laws;
The sons be thus deserving of their name,
To future ages to transmit their fame;
The daughters, whom her fondest cares shall guard,
Of other patriots be the meet reward:
Each sex their different glories to expand,
These to adorn, and those to save a land!
