Fisherville. A very satisfactory celebration—resulting in a harvest of pleasure and a money revenue of about $100 for a public library—took place in Fisherville on the Fourth. At 10 A. M., a procession was formed on the Boscawen side of the river, which included Pioneer Engine Co. No. 8. Torrent Engine Co. No. 1, officers of the day, with speakers and distinguished guests, the three Sabbath Schools of Fisherville, operatives from the factories and mills, and citizens generally. The procession was in charge of Col. A. Rolfe, Chief Marshal, assisted by T. O. Wilson and Charles W. Hardy, and marched through the principal streets, and thence to Gage's Grove, where interesting exercises were held. Music was furnished through the day by Abbott's Drum Corps. At the grove prayer was offered by Rev. Mr. Jewett, after which N. Butler, Esq.. President of the day, made some appropriate remarks. Afterwards, Rev. Mr. Smith read the Declaration of Independence, and Rev. Mr. Kenney delivered an address. Singing was introduced at intervals with good effect. The exercises at the grove closed with the benediction at two o'clock. Succeeding these exercises was the Ladies' Levee in Graphic Hall, held in aid of the public library.
