NEWARK, N. J., Oct. 13.—The jury in the case of Margaret Garrity, who was tried for the death of her seducer, Edward Drum, rendered a verdict this morning, of Not Guilty, on the ground of insanity. They retired at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The verdict is a most just one, and will be hailed with satisfaction by every person conversant with the facts of the case. The unfortunate girl was not only seduced, but heartlessly deserted; and in this trying situation, driven to despair and desperation, she took the life of him who trifled with her affection and brought upon him.
