Full Text

The Post Office Of Prairie—The following is an extract of a letter from the Post Office Department, at Washington to the P. M. at Galena:

"The Postmaster General has ordered, that distributing duties be discontinued at Galena, and that the same duties be performed at Dubuque, Iowa."

The above order was given in direct opposition to the report of a Clerk of the Post Office Department, who was sent on from Washington to examine the matter. A beautiful Postmaster General that! No wonder the official paper of such an Administration beslavors with praise the despotism of Russia!—Galena Advertiser
