West Virginia Italian Murderers Contemplated Other Crimes,
Capt. W.G. Baldwin, the well known detective, organizer and head of the Baldwin-Feltz agency, was here this week and was asked by a representative of this paper for further particulars of the Glen Alum robbery, the particulars of which are well known to the public. He said that the five bandits had been identified clearly and everything found out about the gang. They were all Italians and had been living in the coal fields for years, all except one of them, who had recently lived in Cincinnati. The detectives followed every trail and clue, but failed to find that the bandits were identified with any organized band of Black-Handers, as was at first suspected. It appeared, said Mr. Baldwin, that a hold up and robbery at another place was arranged, but for some reason was abandoned. Only one of the bandits had a family.
