The following Scheme among the principal Powers of
the Roman Catholick Communion is much talked of, as
concluded upon, viz. That Lorain is to devolve to the
Court of France, the Duke of Lorrain to be declared King
of the Romans, the King of the Two Sicilies to have in
Marriage the Emperor's second Daughter, and with her
Tuscany: That the Catholick Princes shall join their
Forces, in order to drive the Turks out of Europe, and enlarge their Dominions on that Side: That in order to
This, the Emperor is to begin this Work by Way of
Hungary; the French and Don Carlos, &c. in the
Mediterranean; whilst Spain is to attack Barbary by
Way of Algier, &c.
