Moneys Sent by Express.

NEW YORK, Sept. 3.—Collector Treat received instructions from Commissioner Scott of the Internal Revenue Department at Washington to demand from all express companies a sworn statement of all money packages received or transported since July 1st. If this demand is complied with and the companies pay up the amount due the Government, it is probable no suits for the recovery of revenue will be brought.

Collector Treat is in consultation with the attorneys of the companies and he believes that most of them will come to an amicable agreement.
