We regret to observe that the editor has occasion to offer a reward of one hundred dollars, for the apprehension and conviction of a villain, who entered his office last Saturday night, and burnt the general subscription and account books of the establishment. The editor says, the brethren of the press throughout the Union, will oblige him by notifying Post-masters and the patrons of the Craftsman, that his list of subscribers and accounts are destroyed through the malice of some unknown incendiary, and that he has no means left of addressing his paper to the long list of patrons he has been for years accumulating, nor of ascertaining who is indebted to him, except it be through their voluntary information.
