A mural tablet will soon be placed in the Park Church, at Hartford, Conn., as a memorial of the late Dr. Horace Bushnell. It will be nine feet high and four feet broad. In the centre will be a bas-relief head of Dr. Bushnell, of excellent workmanship. Just beneath, the following inscription is cut: "Horace Bushnell, D. D., LL. D. Born in Litchfield, April 14, 1802. Pastor of this church twenty-six years. Died in Hartford February 17, 1876. Erected by parishioners and friends in remembrance of his great genius, great character and great services to mankind." The memorial will cost about $1,000, which has been contributed by admirers of Dr. Bushnell, without regard to church or creed.
